Managing and Promoting Coventry's City Centre ~ Winter Gritting Regime
When a decision to salt has been made the following areas will be dealt with:
Exposed subway ramps, car park ramps and steps
Car Park entrances and exits
Exposed precinct and central shopping areas, steps and ramps
Central shopping areas
Bridges
To prioritise these issues, three alternative plans can be put into action depending on the prevailing weather conditions.
Plan X is the initial plan to be implemented with the decision on plan ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ being taken by the CV One Company Operations Manager or Deputy.
CV One through its contractor English Landscapes will operate plan X in the following circumstances. If Coventry City Council begins a City wide gritting operation, then CV one will grit. This CV One operation will start as soon as
possible and if a night crew is on duty, they will start the process. In any event at 5am each winter day the English Landscape Cleansing Supervisor will obtain the weather conditions for the next 24 hours through the internet.
